Established in 2008, Charleston Waterkeeper is a citizen-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the public’s right to clean water by defending Charleston’s waterways from pollution. As a proud member of the Waterkeeper Alliance, Charleston Waterkeeper joins nearly 200 other Waterkeeper programs from around the world in the fight for clean water and strong communities. We’ve established an ambitious goal of “measurably improving the quality of Charleston’s waterways.”  By empowering the public and by delivering innovative and creative solutions to complex issues, we work to protect and preserve our most precious natural resource. To make this all happen, we’re scaling our organization and building a team of passionate and creative people to join our mission.

We are currently building our programs and events for the year.  Please check back soon for opportunities with the Spring 2012 internship class.

In the meantime, we would love to have you volunteer or sign up for our newsletter!  These are great ways to stay in touch with what we are doing and get involved protecting our waterways.

If you have questions about future or past opportunities, you also can always shoot us an email.
