Send Charleston Waterkeeper to DC
On Saturday, March 7th, hundreds of ocean leaders from around the world will converge on Washington, DC for the Blue Vision Summit. The purpose of the convention is “to encourage our current administration to take positive action on our public seas, to address climate change impacts on the ocean, and to highlight solutions to marine environmental threats that work and need to be expanded.”
Charleston Waterkeeper is working hard to assure that our great region is represented at this summit. We are going to need your help though. Because of the costs associated with registration and travel, certainty of our presence is still up in the air. Charleston Waterkeeper is looking for a handful of sponsors to help alleviate the cost of the Summit.
Assuming that we make it to our nation’s capital, Charleston Waterkeeper will maintain up to the minute blog posts and updates for everyone at home to enjoy. In addition, we will try to record guest speakers and panelists in hopes of broadcasting their discussions and presentations as podcasts.
If you or your business is interested in sponsoring Charleston Waterkeeper’s attendance at the Blue Vision Summit, please call Cyrus Buffum, the Charleston Waterkeeper, or shoot us an email. Think of it as the ocean’s version of NASCAR. Heck, we’ll even go as far as painting your business’s logo on our face if it gets us up there (well maybe not that far, but maybe we’d settle for wearing a t-shirt or hat…).
