We caught up with one our most reliable and hard working volunteers, Michael Blalock!
HP: Why do you choose to support Charleston Waterkeeper?
MB: Supporting Charleston Waterkeeper is the best way I know to not just maintain our local environment but be part of an organization that seeks to make it better. Plus it’s a great way to spend time with my daughter.
HP: What is your favorite way to enjoy clean water?
MB: The best way I know to enjoy clean water in Charleston is with a nice run along the Hobcaw Creek in the Ion, across the bridge, or on one of our many great beaches.
HP: What is your favorite waterway in Charleston?
MB: My favorite waterway Would have to be our local stretch of the intracoastal. I am in awe of the vast expanse of life-sustaining marshlands, it’s incredible.
HP: Tell us something interesting about yourself that we might not know?
MB: In my spare time I try to spend as much time in the mountains as possible hiking and finding waterfalls.
