INTERVIEW WITH EASY HONEY 🎸
We loved catching up with Easy Honey!
HP: Why do you choose to support Charleston Waterkeeper?
EH: There are so many reasons. We connected with Charleston Waterkeeper when we were first exploring the idea of integrating beach cleanups and conservation initiatives into our Surf Tour in the summer of 2023. Charleston Waterkeeper’s Harriott Parker connected us to members of the Waterkeeper Alliance across the east coast, ranging from Jacksonville, Florida to Portland, Maine, with whom we have been able to team up the last two summers. As a whole, the people, the comprehensive mission, the clean water advocacy, the restoration initiatives, the tangible data-driven efforts, and the actionable legislative change that Charleston Waterkeeper is championing in Charleston is exceptional. We are honored to know the incredible folks who are making such a difference in our community.Â
HP: What is your favorite way to enjoy clean water?
EH: It’s got to be surfing…we moved to Charleston a few years ago and fell in love with the sport. Freshwater frolicking is a close second.Â
HP: What is your favorite waterway in Charleston?
EH: Folly River, hands down
HP: Tell us about what you have been working on or a recent project
EH: We are psyched to be hosting the Pre-Highwater Cleanup on April 22nd (Earth Day) with Charleston Waterkeeper and Coastal Expeditions on Noisette Creek. A close second is the oyster reef build we are hosting with Sustainability Institute on April 21 out on Daniel Island Reach.Â
HP: Tell us something interesting about yourself that we might not know
EH: While touring, we cannot always agree on food decisions…but when home, we’ll stop by Tres Palmas Acai any chance we get. Tres Palmas: hands down the band’s number one go-to spot in Chucktown.Â
