On Monday, January 12, 2008 Charleston Waterkeeper received a call from a citizen reporting an oil slick by the docks of the Charleston Harbor Marina. The spill was reported and Coast Guard officials came out to investigate the pollution. At this time, Coast Guard has not released any specifics detailing the cause of the spill or data from samples taken.
Ned Goss, owner of Ocean Sailing Academy, took the below photographs of the damage and says that, “it is very nasty.” For more pictures, visit our facebook page.
