Homecoming 2009 at the College of Charleston has just finished up.  This year’s theme, “Watch Maroon Go Green.”  Students and faculty made a point to make this year’s homecoming as environmentally friendly as possible.  One such way the College showed their commitment was to host a Sustainability Green Fair.  The fair welcomed businesses, organizations and campus clubs that are in some way committed to sustainable or environmentally friendly causes.

On January 29th, Charleston Waterkeeper took the opportunity to spread the word about preserving and protecting Charleston’s waterways.  The day featured eco-friendly art, a sculpting contest using recycled materials, a compost bin building station and food and drink samples from local vendors.

This was Charleston Waterkeeper’s first official attendance at a fair or festival; there are plenty more to come…  Thanks to everyone who came by to chat!  Go COUGARS!
