INTERVIEW WITH PAUL BUTLER
We caught up with long time supporter, Paul Butler!
HP: Why do you choose to support Charleston Waterkeeper?
PB: When we moved to Mt. Pleasant 9 years ago I got involved with a local land trust and the idea of being good stewards of the local natural resources appealed to me. Charleston Waterkeeper was a natural progression after working with the Land Trust.
HP: What is your favorite way to enjoy clean water?
PB: Tied up in a creek with several friends enjoying the day. My wife and I have 3 children who keep us incredibly busy with their schedules and the ability to hop in a boat with a few people and find an out of the way place to sit and enjoy the day is incredibly appealing.
HP: What is your favorite waterway in Charleston?
PB: We kept a boat on the Ashley River for a few years and we really enjoyed spending time on the Stono river and down to the back side of Kiawah. It’s a beautiful area and doesn’t seem to have the traffic and the development as some other places.
HP: Tell us something interesting about yourself that we might not know?
PB: Terrible Golfer. Much better to be out on the water then on a golf course.
