INTERVIEW WITH MOLLY MOLONEY
We caught up with the amazing Molly!
HP: Why do you choose to support Charleston Waterkeeper?
MM: I support Charleston Waterkeeper for so many reasons. However, if I had to pick one, I really appreciate the advocacy aspect of the organization and how CWK is always willing to call out injustice. I am incredibly appreciative to be able to do such meaningful work with some of the most fair, genuine, and diligent people.
HP: What is your favorite way to enjoy clean water?
MM: My favorite way to enjoy the Charleston watershed is by paddle boarding (especially in the quieter creeks)!
HP: What is your favorite waterway in Charleston?
MM: My favorite waterway in Charleston is Hobcaw Creek. I always look forward to that stop on water quality Wednesdays because of all the wildlife we see in that area.
HP: Tell us about what you have been working on or a recent project
MM: At Charleston Waterkeeper, I have been working on increasing public access to and use of blue spaces. So far, I have created a comprehensive map of public access points along our watershed as well as a public access takeover event that we look forward to co-hosting later this month on the 25th! Outside of Charleston Waterkeeper, I am working with faculty, staff, and students at the College of Charleston to increase retention and recruitment of first-generation college students like myself!
HP: Tell us something interesting about yourself that we might not know
MM: I have a 7-year-old bearded dragon named Vita!
