Welcome to your October 2023 Keeper’s Report!
For those of you who have experienced Revel on the River, you know it is a joyful celebration of your waterways spanning the generations. There is something for everyone to enjoy and the love of swimming, fishing, surfing and the moments of calm on the water is what brings us together and motivates us to continue the fight for clean water.
This year is no different and is expected to be even better with the incredible line up of supporters and ticket holders. Tickets are still on sale and we have☝🏼Boots on the Water 🌊 partnership open.
Thank you for the support and remember that 100% of your contribution to this amazing event goes to protect and restore Charleston’s waterways for future generations.

What a Ball!
The 4th Annual Tailer’s Ball was a blast at Cooper River Brewing Co with the incredible Rivers and Glen team, Paul Puckett, and The Charleston Fly! And Straight 80 and Friends jammed. 🎸

How’s the Water?
We’re nearing the end of the 2023 Swim Alert season! Every week since May, we’ve brought you weekly alerts to let you know when and where it is safe to go swimming. Make sure to stay tuned for the season wrap up at the end of the month! And know before you go by checking the water quality.
Clean Water Updates
Beach Sweep/River Sweep Success! 💪🏼
We hosted a cleanup site during the annual Beach Sweep/River Sweep on September 16th and removed over 1000 lbs of debris!
Let’s Talk Clean Water! 📣
We had a great time talking clean water at the Hope Summit, hosted by Carolina Ocean Alliance and Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network!
Let the Oyster Season Continue! 🦪
We’ve resumed our weekly shell sorting events with DNR SCORE! Come help pick trash and debris out of recycled oyster shell before it goes back into the water.
Nice Work 🔬
We worked with Dr. Vijay Vulava of the College of Charleston and his Pollution in the Environment students on a field trip exploring contamination in Shem Creek!
Filbin Creek Needs Help! 🧹 🌱
Our quarterly cleanups of Filbin Creek at Hendricks park are continuing! Shoutout to our awesome volunteers helping out! Get in on the effort to help Filbin Creek by joining us for the next clean up.
Creek Watchers Update! 🏅
We hosted a workshop for some new Creek Watchers last month and have another later this month! Come learn how to test water quality and help keep tabs on the health of your favorite river or creek!
